The Calvary Athletic Association was created in 1965. One fine day, while standing in his field a young man saw a light go on. This light was not in his head but on his front porch. His wife was flicking the porch light signaling it was dinner and to go find the kids. After dinner the man thought what a great idea it would be if there was an organization where his kids could play organized sports with other children. This idea was the beginning of the great Calvary Athletic Association. Even though the fields were built in the wrong area than what was originally designed on the rock quarry, it was still the beginning of a great organization. Calvary A.A. was originally called Our Lady of Calvary Athletic Association or OLCAA but due to possible lawsuits and exstensive litigation, the name was changed to Calvary A.A. in 2002. This young man, who goes by too many names to list, was the one who chose the Calvary Crusaders motto, “You are never as tall as when you bend over to help a child".
We are a non-profit, community conscious, volunteer run organization who’s goal is to see that every child, from ages 4 to 15 will have a chance to participate in an organized sport with other children in their age groups ranging from in-house programs to traveling programs. The sports Include football, baseball, softball, basketball, cheerleading, and most recently added, lacrosse. We focus on teaching the fundamentals of each sport, good sportsmanship, and commitment.
